Open Roles:

Head of Operations

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Operations will have responsibility for helping to find, develop, motivate and retain our most important asset: our people. This is a key strategic role in the company allowing us to build on the unique and strong people-oriented culture already at the centre of Accountant Online’s team. In addition to proactively resource planning in line with the company’s plans for business growth, you will lead and support innovation initiatives such as LEAN and also lead the IT, Quality and HR functions.

Main responsibilities

  • Work directly with the leadership team in setting strategy and goals that promote company growth, sustainable profit and success for our people in their commitment to supporting clients.
  • Lead in the development of a culture of innovation and continuous improvement throughout the team
  • Devise multi-annual strategic resource plans in line with business expansion plan needs; researching best mix of offshore, local and direct staffing solutions for greatest efficiency
  • Devise and oversee graduate training programmes to deliver a pipeline of talent
  • Design and delivery of Learning and Development, CPD initiatives across the business, including leadership and technical development
  • Design and implement employee recruitment and retention strategies
  • Design and rollout of a compensation strategy and policy that reinforces a performance – based reward culture

Management of functional areas - Quality

  • Responsible for implementation and monitoring of a robust quality control system throughout all of the compliance teams
  • Review work practices, implement programmes to improve existing internal support systems and policies
  • Responsible for company-wide GDPR policy implementation, ensuring we comply with all areas of GDPR
  • The maintenance and updating of AML policy – ensuring we comply with all areas of AML compliance as part of the company’s commitment to quality
  • Risk management – manage the risk register for the company
  • Ethics – ensure company culture aligns with ethics as defined by the Board and that training and monitoring is in place
  • Develop quality management programme and assign third party or internal resource as needed

Management of functional areas - IT

  • Oversee day to day operational systems and processes
  • Oversee management of the maintenance of our IT systems, including ensuring we have the most cost-effective and efficient software and hardware solutions to support our people and clients

Management of functional areas - HR

  • Oversee third party HR service providers as needed
  • Ensure implementation of personal development plans

Qualifications required

  • The successful candidate will have been involved in a leadership role in successfully scaling a professional service or online consultancy business
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service and employee management
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources in line with financial targets
  • Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create efficiency and respond to rapidly changing business demands
  • This is a director-level role – KPIs associated with this role include a contribution to the gross and net profit margin of the company and talent pipeline management
  • Location: Accountant Online is a remote working company so we welcome qualified candidates from all similar time zones to Ireland
  • Salary: Up to €60,000.00 per year

Experienced Qualified Accountant

Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of compliance clients mostly in the start up and scale up stage of business across Ireland and the UK
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for companies
  • Preparation of annual accounts for individuals and partnerships
  • Handling of compliance taxes across all tax heads including income tax, corporation tax, VAT and payroll taxes

Skills and qualifications

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, in a busy accounting practice.
  • Excellent technical/analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and can demonstrate a strong client care focus
  • Cross border experience an advantage

Accounting Technician

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Financial Statements for companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Preparation of Tax Returns
  • Manage assignment files
  • Maintaining the accounting records for clients, including running day books, relevant control accounts and reconciliations
  • Posting to Trial Balance stage
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports

Skills and qualifications

  • A part qualification as an accountant with a registered Irish body or a full qualification as an accounting technician, along with membership of the Institute of Accounting Technicians
  • A minimum of two years post qualification experience, in a busy accounting practice

Trainee Company Secretary

This work entails the administration of paperwork related to forming new companies, submitting filings with the Companies Registration Office and managing the associated deadlines.You will assist a team of accountants and chartered secretaries in the preparation and submission of statutory filings on behalf of our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Excellent manner and will be accustomed to delivering good quality and accurate paperwork to tight deadlines for internal and external clients.
  • You may be an experienced office administrator with previous experience working in an accountancy, company secretarial or legal firm
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
  • This is a client facing role which will give you the opportunity to work with existing clients ensuring compliance with Companies Registration Office and Companies Act 2014 requirements

Skills and qualifications

  • Drafting incorporation documentation/ Liaising with international clients on company incorporations and legalisation of documents.
  • Preparing documentation relating to post incorporation compliance and corporate re-structures.
  • Drafting documents and resolutions following firm precedents.
