About Microfinance Ireland

Microfinance Ireland provide small loans up to €25,000 through the Government’s Microenterprise Loan Fund. They work closely with the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs), the Irish Local Development Network, and all the major Irish banks to provide viable businesses with the support they need to get started or to grow their business and create jobs.

  • Loan packages from €2K - €25K

  • Lends to a diverse range of industry sectors and from all across Ireland

  • Lends to business owners who have been turned down for a loan by their bank

  • Lends to you even if you have already received loan funding (a grant, Bank loan, etc.)

  • They provide mentoring support from an experienced business mentor on the LEO Mentor Panel

  • Each application is based on the viability of the business and your ability to repay the loan

Des is currently the CEO of Microfinance Ireland. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry and in senior management in the retail and commercial banking sectors.
Des prides himself on having a strong strategic focus and on his leadership and teambuilding capabilities. He has excellent stakeholder management skills and has experience of major business transformations, including IT platform changes, culture changes and employee changes.
